BUFFIES

What Are Buffies in Null’s Brawl?

Buffies are collectible keychains originally available in gift shops across Starr Park. Over time, they disappeared from stores and became unavailable everywhere.

After checking inventory records, R-T discovered a hidden underground warehouse filled with Buffies. Since then, Buffies have started appearing around Starr Park again.

Buffies increase the power and abilities of Brawlers. As the name suggests, they enhance Gadgets, Star Powers, and Hypercharges for any Brawler that can use them.

Which Brawlers Receive Buffies?

In this update, Buffies are available for the following Brawlers:

  • Colt
  • Shelly
  • Spike
  • Mortis
  • Frank
  • Emz

Each Brawler can unlock three different Buffies:

  • Gadget Buffie
  • Super Buffie
  • Hyper Buffie

Once unlocked, a Buffie is permanently active and boosts both Gadgets and both Star Powers. All three Buffies can be equipped at the same time.

How Buffies Work for Each Brawler

Below is a breakdown of what each Buffie does for the Brawlers included in this update.

Colt Buffies

  • Gadget: Speedloader – Each successful hit steals 1 ammo.
  • Gadget: Silver Bullet – Fires a larger bullet that deals higher damage.
  • Star Power: Slick Boots – Gain movement speed when dealing damage.
  • Star Power: Magnum Special – Deal increased damage to distant enemies.
  • Hypercharge: Dual Wielding – Fire bullets faster while Hypercharge is active.

Spike Buffies

  • Hypercharge: Blooming Season – The main attack needle grenades, which explode twice.

Mortis Buffies

  • Gadget: Combo Spinner – Deals extra damage to low-health enemies.
  • Gadget: Creature of the Night – Damages enemies passed through and heals Mortis based on damage dealt.
  • Star Power: Creepy Harvest – Increases Mortis’ maximum health until defeated, and this effect stacks.
  • Star Power: Coiled Snake – Provides damage reduction during long dashes.
  • Hypercharge: Blood Boomerang – After a main attack, a delayed phantom attack hits the same area.

Frank Buffies

  • Gadget: Active Noise Canceling – The soundwave also destroys enemy projectiles.
  • Gadget: Irresistible Attraction – Enemies hit are slowed for a short time.
  • Star Power: Power Grab – Defeating an enemy increases attack damage and provides short-term healing.

Why These Changes Matter

Chaos Drops

Chaos Drops are the strongest type of Starr Drops in the game and have the power to change the current meta. The lowest rarity starts at Super Rare, while Ultra is the highest rarity available for Starr Drops.

Why Chaos Drops Are So Powerful

Chaos Drops stand out because of their unique mechanics and high reward potential:

  • They can split into up to eight separate drops
  • The rarity stays the same after splitting
  • There is a chance to receive eight Ultra Legendary Chaos Drops at once
  • They offer extremely high-value rewards

Rewards Inside Ultra Chaos Drops

Ultra Chaos Drops contain some of the most valuable items in the game, including:

  • Hypercharges
  • Mythic, Legendary, and Ultra Legendary Brawlers
  • Epic, Mythic, Legendary, and Hypercharge skins
  • Buff-related upgrades

How Players Can Get Chaos Drops

Players can earn Chaos Drops through the Brawl Pass, and they may also appear as part of Daily Rewards. While the chance of getting one is low, the rewards can be massive if a Chaos Drop splits.

New Game Modes

Two new game modes have been introduced to bring more variety and a faster pace to gameplay. These modes are designed to help players test their new fighters and enjoy fresh, action-packed battles.

Safe Destroyers Mode

Safe Destroyers is a 3v3 Heist-style mode. The first team to destroy the enemy safe wins the match. Bombs can be picked up and thrown at the opposing team’s safe. This is the only way to damage and destroy the safe, making teamwork and timing very important.

Love Bombing Mode

Love Bombing is a 2v2 Wipeout-style mode. The first team to reach 6 takedowns wins. Regular attacks stun enemies but do not count as takedowns. Players must pick up and throw the Love Bomb at opponents to score takedowns.

How Players Can Get Chaos Drops

Players can earn Chaos Drops through the Brawl Pass, and they may also appear as part of Daily Rewards. While the chance of getting one is low, the rewards can be massive if a Chaos Drop splits.

Permanent Improvements

  • A new Fame Level called Starr Force has been added. Unlocking this level rewards players with a new Battle Card, Player Icon, and Pin.
  • Brawl Ball and Air Hockey matches will now continue after the timer ends if the ball or puck is still moving.
  • Super Rare skins have been added to Mythic Starr Drops.
  • Quests can now include more active and unlocked game modes, giving players more variety.

Bug Fixes and Stability Updates

Several bugs have been fixed to improve overall game stability and visuals:

  • Shadow Tiger Leon and its chromas now correctly show the Hypercharge model when using the Clone Projector gadget.
  • Ice hockey puck color now displays correctly.
  • The Quest icon for “Play 2 matches with a clubmate” is no longer missing in the Quest menu.
  • The correct version of the Jake Ollie Profile Icon is now shown.
  • The “NEW” badge no longer appears incorrectly in the Quests menu when the Rewards menu is selected.
